Skretting Spain advances energy management with MAVAL
The company implements Siemens SIMATIC Energy Manager PRO to monitor and manage its energy consumption.
Skretting, a global leader in the manufacture and supply of nutritional solutions for the aquaculture industry, deploys Siemens SIMATIC Energy Manager PRO at its plant in Burgos to monitor and manage energy consumption. Skretting Spain has an annual production capacity of 200,000 tonnes of fish feed and 35,000 tonnes of pet food.
Skretting is part of the Nutreco group and, as part of its sustainability agenda, it actively works to reduce its environmental impact by collaborating with stakeholders at every stage of the value chain. In line with this global strategic goal, Skretting Spain decided to take action to monitor energy consumption, starting with the implementation of a tool like Energy Manager PRO.
Where and how is energy consumed at Skretting’s Burgos plant?
This industrial energy management solution collects data from the field, enterprise management systems and production systems, allowing Skretting Spain to understand where and how energy (electricity, water, gas, etc.) is being consumed—using real-time data to make properly informed decisions.
It helps detect waste areas that are driving up energy spend and create action plans to address them. It also enables mapping consumption by time slots to identify periods in which the company is paying for energy that is not needed.
Industrial production at the Burgos plant—one of the main factories in its sector in Spain—generates high energy consumption. With efficiency and energy management as a priority, Skretting implemented a solution that provides the visibility required to reduce consumption and improve performance in energy terms.
